I don't live in New Jersey. I live in Philadelphia. I would have voted Corzine back in. A lot of us feel bad for him. He is a good business man and was trying to help New Jersey. He didn't even take a pay check. It seems some of the New Jersey residents made him pay for being a Democrat. Look what they elected and now they also have to pay this man a salary. I would not trust him or want him for governor of Pennsylvania.
Oh yeah, the governors salary is right up there with the top expenditures in NJ.
christie vs. rendell in the inauguration wing bowl.
be careful what you wish for nj voters....
Hey Andi15, if you like Corzine so much you can have him. You feel bad for him? What about us and having to deal with this massive tax increases year after year. If he balanced the budget and did so without raping the residents of this state, we would have surely paid him a salary. You are an idiot.
I wonder if Corzine told Christie where he was moving. He should move back to Illinois and destroy his own state. Corzine is not from New Jersey and does not care about the people of New Jersey. But I suspect he will be moving to CT or NY and try to enter politics once again.
I do live in NJ and I did vote for Christie. I'm sure Corzine is a good guy at heart, and I'm fairly sure he had NJ's best intentions when he made the decisions he did. And yes, he didn't take a paycheck which shows his commitment to pubic service. However - and this point seems to be lost in politics on a larger scale - only having good intentions isn't good enough. The country in general and NJ specifically have a lot problems which need TALENTED people to overcome, not just "a good guy" with good intentions.
Corzine lived in NJ for 25 years before running for Senate. His children grew up in NJ. The idea that he is some carpetbagger is a joke.
Corzine made good progress with addressing the state deficit. What's Christie's great ideas? He's going to go after middle class state employees and ask for a reduction in their pensions and salaries. Wait, that's what Corzine already did. What other great ideas does Christie have? Freeze state mandated requirements that the state didn't fund. (Can someone tell him that if the state didn't fund it, he won't reduce the state bugdet or deficit by freezing them?) He wants to do away with affordable housing mandates and eliminate the state control over Camden. Or, walk away from urban areas and leave them on their own. He wants to eliminate environmental protection regulation. That will save some money. Get ready for medical waste washing up on the Jersey shore again. And, finally and most importantly, he want to move funds to a discretionary fund to pay for his inaugral party. Ha ha ha. Like his wife was quoted as saying "Oh my God. You're going to be govenor." My thoughts exactly. Great choice NJ. Better move out of state now.
At the meeting, did the Governor put any food out for his guest? And if he did, was the Governor-elect offended?
