Four men were slain by gunfire over the weekend, according to police, who have released the names of three victims.
Last night, a West Philadelphia man was found in his living room with a fatal head wound.
Rush Thompson, 39, who lived in the 6700 block of Trinity Street, was found shortly after 7:30 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:46 p.m.
Yesterday afternoon, a 20-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the unit block of East Herman Street in East Germantown.
The man, whose name was being withheld this morning pending notification of kin, was found outside at 4:20 p.m. with wounds to the head, chest and abdomen, police said.
He died at Albert Einstein Medical Center at 10:17 p.m.
Early Saturday afternoon, a 39-year-old man who was gunned down in the 800 block of East Woodlawn Avenue in East Germantown - about a mile from yesterday afternoon's homicide.
Parrish Holmes lived in the 8000 block of Ditman Street in the Tacony section of the Northeast.
He was found shortly before 12:30, and was pronounced dead at 1:02 p.m. at Einstein.
Early Saturday morning, after getting word of gunshots shortly before 1:30 a.m., police stopped a speeding orange Mercury and discovered the driver was rushing a man to Temple University Hospital.
Shot several times in the back was Yusuf Sweet, 22, of the 4100 block of North Darien Street of Hunting Park.
He died less than a half-hour later, at 1:53 a.m.
Reports said the shooting happened in the 2000 block of West 65th Avenue in West Oak Lane.
Motives and suspects were unknown in all these cases as of this morning, police said.
This year's homicide count was 263 as of midnight, down from 292 last year and 350 in 2007.
