Feds arrest Bucks man in straw gun purchase

A Bucks County man was arrested today for the illegal purchase and possession of weapons.

The county's FBI Violent Gang Task Force arrested Dwayne Lynch, of Bristol, at 6:30 a.m. for the "straw purchase" of an AK-47 assault rifle and a Mossberg 500 pump-action shotgun.

A "straw purchase" occurs when an individual surreptitiously buys a firearm on behalf of a third party. It is a felony.

FBI agents recovered numerous weapons at the Winder Avenue homes of Lynch's mother and grandmother, including the AK-47, the Mossberg, a 9 mm pistol with its serial number scraped off, and a shotgun possibly used in two shootings.

Lynch is being held at the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia.
