Of the tens of thousands of stories published on Philly.com in 2016, these are the ones that you read, shared and debated the most. The stories below run the gamut. There are the big investigative projects, table-pounding commentary, odes to Philly comfort food, wrenching first-person accounts of losing a loved one to suicide and Bill Lyon's battle with Alzheimer's, pretty much every story we wrote about Bruce Springsteen — and everything in between.
There are some clear themes to the coverage readers engaged with the most: Presidential political coverage was popular, of course, as were pieces that shed light on roaring civic debates over identity and values, fast-changing city neighborhoods, justice (and injustice) and the caliber of Carson Wentz’s game.
