Workers injured in house collapse at Jersey shore

Three construction workers in the process of lifting an Ocean County, N.J., house damaged last year by Hurricane Sandy were injured when the structure collapsed unexpectedly, according to reports.

Three men suffered varying degrees of injuries, according to an Asbury Park Press report Wednesday evening.

One man had neck and back injuries, another had undisclosed injuries but was reportedly standing when firefighters arrived and a third most seriously injured was on the ground in the rear of the property as emergency workers arrived, according to the report.

The collapse reportedly occurred on Kansas Road in Little Egg Harbor shortly after 5:30 p.m. Township police could not immediately be reached for comment and the nearby fire station's number was not in service.
