Woman's body pulled from Schuylkill

The body of an Asian woman was pulled from the Schuylkill this morning, according to police.

About 10 a.m., a construction crew notified police that the corpse was floating in the river near South Street, police spokeswoman Officer Tanya Little said.

The woman's identity and age haven't been determined, nor is it clear how she died, Little said.

Ealier this month, the family of Yuhua Lu, 64, reported her missing from her home on Paoli Avenue near Matthias Street in Roxborough. There's no indication that the body is Lu's, but police are pursuing her as a potential lead, Little said.

Last Wednesday, another woman was rescued from the river near Girard Avenue and taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, police said. She was later released.
