A 54-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Kensington.

Philadelphia police said the woman was hit on the 3100 block of Frankford Avenue on Tuesday afternoon and the striking vehicle fled the scene. The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police did not release the woman's name or provide further details about the circumstances of the accident.

Authorities described the striking vehicle as possibly a dark-colored Dodge Charger or Dodge Magnum station wagon.
