Was Downingtown school district hacked?

Downington school district officials have scheduled a press conference this afternoon regarding what they are calling a, "critical case of fraudulent transfers involving" the district's accounts.

District officials say they want to alert other school districts to the "potential of computer fraud of outside felons."

Downingtown Area School District Superintendent Lawrence Mussoline will hold the press conference at 3:30 p.m. at the district office on Trestle Place.  Banking and police officials will also attend.

"Local, state and national law enforcement agencies worked around the clock to successfully recover these tax-payer funds," said a release on the press conference without mentioning details.
