Weather Channel launches campaign to get back on Verizon FiOS

The Weather Channel has launched a campaign to encourage viewers to protest Verizon's decision to drop the channel from its FiOS TV lineup.

The Weather Channel has launched a campaign to encourage viewers to protest Verizon's decision to drop the channel from its FiOS TV lineup.

Verizon said earlier this week that it had opted to stop carrying the Weather Channel in favor of the new AccuWeather Network.

The Weather Channel has created a website, keeptheweatherchannel.com, that provides contact information for Verizon and urges people to "call Verizon and demand they bring back The Weather Channel."

The website also provides information about other television providers, including Comcast, that offer the channel and encourage viewers to switch.

The Weather Channel has been prominently promoting the effort on its social media accounts. The channel has said it was surprised by Verizon's decision.

Last year, the Weather Channel resolved a dispute with DirecTV, which temporarily dropped the channel.
