Video: Masked men rob Tioga gas station worker

Police are looking for two men captured on surveillance video robbing an employee of Philly Gas at 2044 W. Allegheny Ave. in the Tioga section of North Philadelphia.

Philadelphia police are looking for two men captured on surveillance video robbing an employee of a Tioga gas station earlier this week.

The men – one wearing a rubber Halloween mask, the second sporting a scarf over his face – walked into Philly Gas at 2044 W. Allegheny Ave. about 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

One suspect approached the store's glass-enclosed counter, placed a handgun under the window, and demanded money from an employee, according to investigators.

When the clerk refused to hand over cash, the second suspect robbed another employee of his cell phone and keys, police said. No injuries were reported.

Both suspects fled on foot and were last seen running south on 21st Street. They are described as two black males in their late teens to early 20s wearing hooded sweatshirts, dark-colored pants, and gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Northwest Detective Division at 215-686-3353 or 3354, or to submit an anonymous tip by dialing 215-686-TIPS (8477) or texting PPD TIP (773847).
