Two shot, one critical, in Strawberry Mansion

One man was left in critical condition last night after a double shooting in Strawberry Mansion.

Around 12:09 a.m. yesterday, officers investigated reports of a gunman on 28th Street, police said. When police arrived, a 36-year-old man was lying on the street with multiple gunshot wounds on his chest and back. The officers took him to Temple University Hospital, where he remained last night in critical condition, police said.

While still at the scene, police received a report of another shooting a block north — on Newkirk Street near 29th. The second man, 30, took a gunshot wound to his upper right shoulder, police said. He told investigators that he was shot in the same location as the original shooting.

The second victim was treated at Hahnemann Hospital and later released.

Police do not have a suspect. It's unclear whether the two shootings are related.
