A large fight involving school students left two school police officers a city police officer hurt in the Oxford Circle section of the Northeast Thursday afternoon following dismissal, according to police radio reports.

About five students were taken into custody, according to the radio dispatch reports, while the two officers were injured in the crowd tussle that broke out in the 900 block of Brill Street shortly before 3 p.m.

"A couple of my officers injured, a bike officer injured. We have now about five now in custody," a school district officer said over city police dispatch at about 2:50 p.m.

The extent of the injuries was not immediately known.

The fight took roughly 20 minutes to control, according to radio accounts. No school was identified in the radio dispatches as the location from which the students attend, but Samuel Fels High School is about two blocks from the corner of Brill Street and Summerdale Avenue where the incident occurred.

Spokesmen for city police and the school district were not immediately available for comment.
