Temple student 'grazed' by bullet
A Temple University student was "grazed by a bullet" overnight at the edge of the main campus in North Philadelphia, according to a statement by the school.
According to police, the student was struck in the stomach by a stray bullet about 2 a.m. at Cecil B. Moore Ave. and 15th St.. Temple University police say he was taken to an area hospital and released.
The bullet was apparently fired in a shootout about 2 a.m. outside a nightclub on Cecil B Moore Avenue, about a block away from the student. According to police, one of the gunman, a 25-year-old, was struck in the knee. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is currently in stable condition.
The shooting was near the Liacouras Center parking facility, which is at the southwest edge of campus. Police are asking people to avoid the area as they continue the investigation into the incident.
