Police said the victim and several witnesses were riding their bicycles near 28th and Jackson streets shortly before 11:30 p.m., when two unknown men began to run after them.

The suspects allegedly chased the teens north on 28th Street from Jackson Street, then opened fire.

The 17-year-old was shot once in the right leg and taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was placed in stable condition, police said.

The suspects are described as two tall black males with medium builds. One suspect is believed to be between the ages of 18 and 19, had stubbly facial hair and was wearing a gray hoodie, police said. The second suspect was clean-shaven and last seen wearing a red hoodie, according to investigators.
