Taxi driver killed in West Philadelphia crash

A cab driver was killed after his vehicle rammed into a brick wall in front of a West Philadelphia home this morning.

Philadelphia police said the 67-year-old man's taxi hit a wall on the 300 block of Cobbs Creek Parkway at 7:35 a.m.

Medics took the driver, whose name was not released, to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He was pronounced dead there shortly after 8:30 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
