Police have identified two suspects in a shootout early Sunday that wounded a Temple University student in North Philadelphia.

Police have identified two suspects in a shootout early Sunday that wounded a Temple University student in North Philadelphia.

Police on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant for 32-year-old Jermill Edwards, of the 2800 block of Fletcher Street, who they say was involved in the shooting.

A second suspect, a 38-year-old man whose identity has not been released, was located soon after the shooting at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Police said both suspects were patrons of The Let Out, a private club at 1621 Cecil B. Moore Ave. The men allegedly left the bar early Sunday following a dispute.

One of the men said he was going to get his gun and retrieved a firearm from a 2004 Chevrolet, according to police. When he approached the bar shortly before 2 a.m., investigators said, security guards drew their weapons, sparking a shootout.

Police said a stray bullet from the suspect's gun grazed the 21-year-old student as he was on the 1600 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue. He was struck in the abdomen and rushed to Hahnemann University Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect allegedly fled the scene, driving west on Cecil B. Moore Avenue toward 18th Street. Police said they eventually located the vehicle outside the emergency room of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where the suspect was receiving treatment for a gunshot wound to the knee.

That suspect, whose identity has not been released, is facing charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault.

Edwards is still at large, according to police. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Central Detectives Division at 215-686-3093.
