Police have identified a body found Friday morning by the side of a South Jersey road as that of 25-year-old Joyce Vanderhoff, of Egg Harbor Township. Vanderhoff was murdered, according to investigators.

A passing motorist shortly before 10 a.m. spotted the body on Weymouth Road in Hamilton Township.

The state Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide. It’s unclear exactly how Vanderhoff was killed. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said in a release officials have no further comment on the case at this time.

Anyone with information about the incident or who has witnessed suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact the prosecutor's major crimes unit at 609-909-7666, or the Hamilton Township Police Department at 609-625-2700.
