Light snow likely in Philadelphia area today

Philadelphians should get ready for some snow -- first today, and potentially again this weekend.

The National Weather Service says there's a 70 percent chance the region will see snowfall today. The snow is likely to fall before 10 a.m. and is expected to amount to less than a half inch.

The snow and clouds will shift to sun for the afternoon, though, and the weather service predicts a high temperature today of 34 degrees.

There are more chances for snow over the weekend.

The weather service is calling for light snow late Saturday, starting around 11 p.m. And light snow is again predicted for Sunday morning through 2 p.m.

There's a 60 percent chance of snow for both days, according to the weather service. A smaller chance of snow persists through 8 p.m. Sunday.
