Skateboarder in LOVE Park attack: 'I lost my cool'

The skateboarder who authorities say attacked a park ranger at LOVE Park in Center City over the weekend says he got caught up in the heat of the moment.

"I lost my cool," the 19-year-old from Pottstown told 6ABC, which identified him only as Curtis.

A law enforcement source told The Inquirer that a suspect was arrested at his mother's Pottstown home this morning.

A video posted online over the weekend captured the altercation between the suspect and park ranger. Police say the ranger was trying to enforce the park's no-skateboarding rule when the man punched and kicked him.

"I messed up," the suspect told 6ABC. "I know what I did was wrong."

He also told the television station that he can't take back the attack, but said, "If I had a chance, I would apologize to that guy."
