    superturtle - I love your thinking on this. Too many politicians take 6 months or more off of their current job to campaign for the next level of office. It's a disgrace.

    All politicians need term limits. The founding fathers envisioned these positions as places to help serve the public for the greater good of the public, the politicians today look at this as a career and it needs to be stopped. They have voted themselves raises when the country suffers, they allow themselves to be exempt from the laws they enslave the regular public with, its time this changes.

    My 2 cents is that it's too late; the damage has been done. It is now impossible to fix the Federal Government, term limits or not. They will overspend the U.S. into oblivion and micromanage our lives (or try to). When the economy collapses, each side will simply blame the other.

    Term limits should be one thing that the left and right should agree on. This should be a part time job for heaven's sake. That goes for the state and local level.

    I'd like to see a one term President of six years. The Congress should be limited to two terms in both houses of four years. It will never happen in my lifetime.

    Slash their pensions to ten years at 25% of their working pay. They'll leave on their own.

    the truth is that they all have term limits. it's up to the apathetic voters to decide this. if you don't vote, welllll...you pretty much allow these a-holes to decide you fate. Remember the Republicans of the 80's when term limits were the rage until it came to them?? vote the f***ers out. especially in Harrisburg
