Shooting in Port Richmond leaves man extremely critical

A shooting on East Ann Street in Port Richmond left a 33-year-old man severely injured Friday night, Philadelphia police said.

A shooting in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia left a 33-year-old man severely injured Friday night.

Officers responded to the 2300 block of East Ann Street around 10 p.m. and found the victim lying in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound to his face and neck. A handgun was tucked in the waistband of his pants, police said.

Officers rushed the man to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in extremely critical condition. An undisclosed quantity of narcotics was recovered from his person, according to investigators. His identity was not released.

There wasn't word on a suspect or motive, and police reported no arrest. Anyone with information was asked to contact Philadelphia police.
