Shooter wounds two at U.S. Naval property in Tennessee, Navy says
A gunman wounded two people at a U.S. Naval property in Tennessee at about 2 p.m. this afternoon before the suspect was taken into custody minutes later, the Navy confirmed via Twitter.
Neither of the two wounded people suffered life threatening injuries, according to the U.S. Navy's official Twitter account. The military property, called Naval Support Activity Midwest in Millington, Tenn., remained in lockdown at 2:45 p.m. as a precaution. (UPDATE: The lockdown was lifted shortly before 3 p.m.)
"#Millington suspect in custody. 2 Soldiers injured - not life threatening," the Navy tweeted at about 2:30 p.m.
According to reports, more than 7,500 military, civilian and contracted personnel work at the base.
