Reports: Car drives into Del. River at Penns Landing

At least two people were in a vehicle that plunged into the Delaware River near shortly before 6 p.m. Monday, according to initial Philadelphia fire dispatch reports.

Firefighters responded to the river along Delaware Avenue and a fire chief confirmed the vehicle in the river on emergency radio dispatch.

The conditions of the vehicle's occupants were not immediately known.
