Kingsway High School official charged with $226K theft

A local school transportation official in New Jersey has been charged with stealing over a quarter million dollars during the past two years, the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday.

Richard A. Costanzo, 42, of Clayton, allegedly stole $226,000 from the School Transportation Supervisors of New Jersey since August 2012, the prosecutor's office said. Costanzo was a member of the association since 1995 and had served as the group's secretary.

He worked as transportation supervisor for Kingsway Regional High School in Woolwich. He previously drove buses at Kingsway.

Detectives with the county major crimes unit arrested Costanzo on Monday at his school office. He was charged with theft, then posted $35,000 and was released.
