A woman was aggressively forced into a sedan Thursday afternoon in Fairmount Park and abducted, police said.

A woman was aggressively forced into the trunk of a sedan Thursday afternoon in Fairmount Park and abducted, police said.

Tanya Little, a police spokeswoman, said in an email that just before 3 p.m. a black woman was forced into the trunk of a dark blue Pontiac Grand Prix with tinted windows on the 3200 block of Sedgley Drive.

Little said the sedan was last seen headed westbound on Girard Avenue toward Kelly Drive. A witness reportedly made out the letters J and T on the vehicle's license plate.

The abductor was described as a black man with a light complexion in a white t-shirt wearing a black skull cap.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police tipline at 215-686-8477.
