A police officer was one of three people injured Thursday night during a crash in West Philadelphia.

A police officer was one of three people injured Thursday night during a crash in West Philadelphia.

Police said the officer was following a reckless driver south on 55th Street near Cambridge Street shortly before 6 p.m., when the officer's car hit a parked vehicle.

The officer, whose identity was not released, was expected to be treated at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and released.

Two civilian drivers suffered minor injuries in the crash and were also taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for treatment, according to investigators.

No arrests were immediately made in connection with the incident.
