Police are investigating an assault reported Thursday afternoon outside the Russell C. Struble Elementary School in Bensalem.

The victim, a 33-year-old woman, told investigators an unknown man approached her around 3:15 p.m. inside the school's playground on the 4300 block of Bensalem Boulevard.

The man allegedly engaged her in conversation before punching her in the chest, causing her to fall to the ground.

Police said he grabbed the woman by the hair and dragged her several feet before she was able to break free from his grasp and run to a nearby home for assistance.

She suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, according to investigators.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned Middle Eastern or Hispanic male with a large circular nose ring and a slight amount of facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black beanie-type cap, a long-sleeved white shirt and black pants.

The victim saw the man in the rear parking lot of the school before the attack, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bensalem Police Department Detective Division at 215-633-3719.
