Police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed and choked a woman unconscious Monday night after forcing his way into her room at the Packer Avenue Holiday Inn in South Philadelphia.

Police said the victim was inside a room at the Holiday Inn, located at 900 Packer Ave., waiting for a visitor. But when the woman answered a knock at the door around 8 p.m., she was instead greeted by an unknown man, according to investigators.

The man allegedly forced his way inside and choked the victim until she passed out. When she regained consciousness, police said, the woman noticed several items were missing from her room. The woman suffered minor facial injuries as a result of the attack.

The suspect was caught on surveillance video entering the hotel and wandering around the eighth-floor hallway.

He is described as a five-foot-six-inch tall black male, aged 25 to 30, weighing about 180 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing a white knit hat with a design and dark-colored clothing.
