Philly schools shorten spring break
The School District of Philadelphia on Friday announced a curtailed spring break to make up for instructional days lost to inclement weather that’s crippled the area during a record-shattering winter.
Philadelphia public schools will now be open April 15, 16 and 17, days originally slated for spring recess. The last day of school is projected to be Thursday, June 19.
The calendar may be revised in the coming weeks if weather conditions or unrelated emergencies force more classroom closures. Parents are urged to regularly check the school district’s website for the most current schedule.
