Update: Philadelphia police, in an update sent to members of the media around 11:40 a.m., said missing K-9 officer BiBi was found safe.

Original Story: Philadelphia police are looking for a police K-9 that went missing from an officer’s home Friday night.

Investigators said the dog, BiBi, escaped around 6 p.m. from a hole in the cyclone fence of the officer’s backyard, located in the 15th police district, which covers parts of Northeast Philadelphia.

She was last spotted in the area of Oxford Avenue and Wakeling Street in Frankford.

Police said BiBi is very friendly toward people but not toward other animals, so anyone approaching the canine with a pet should be cautious.

BiBi is described as a 7-year-old brindle-colored, short-haired female Dutch Shepherd weighing about 50 pounds. She has an identifying chip in her ear, police said.

Anyone who encounters BiBi is asked to call 911 immediately.
