PMA starts pay-what-you-want Wednesday nights

Pay-what-you-wish admission to the Philadelphia Museum of Art is no longer limited to the first Sunday of each month.

Starting tonight, the museum's main building will let visitors pay what they want on Wednesday evenings after 5 p.m. The PMA's main building will remain open until 8:45 p.m. on Wednesdays.

The museum says the pay-what-you-want Wednesdays will include films, music, children's projects, guided tours and speakers.

Tonight's program includes a make-your-own-Valentine studio, yoga, a talk on love in Indian painting, a program on spoken word performances, sketching in the galleries and a DJ playing love songs from a variety of genres.

The PMA previously let visitors pay what they wished every Sunday, but curtailed that policy to once a month in 2009.
