Overhead wire problems disrupt SEPTA's Lansdale/Doylestown line

Shuttle buses remain in place of train service between the Link Belt and Doylestown stations on SEPTA's Lansdale/Doylestown line as crews work to remove a fallen tree that damaged power lines and blocked train tracks.

The buses were expected to operate through the end of rail operations Monday night. But SEPTA said regular train service along the entire line is expected at the start of operations Tuesday morning.

Trains will operate up to Link Belt, where passengers will board shuttle buses to complete their outbound trips to Doylestown.

The power problems have disrupted service on the line since about 5:40 a.m.

Strong winds caused an 80-foot tree to fall across the tracks and knock down power lines near Doylestown station, SEPTA said.

Separately, signal problems caused delays on both the Trenton Regional Rail line and Market-Frankford subway line, but those issues had been resolved by early afternoon.

Riders can find suggestions for alternate travel on SEPTA's website.
