Off-duty Philly officer struck in hit-run DUI

An off-duty city police officer in his personal vehicle was struck by a hit-and-run driver overnight in West Philadelphia, according to police.

The suspect was stopped a block away and charged with drunk driving after a blood test, according to investigators at the Accident Investigation District.  His identity was not available first thing this morning.

The officer was was not seriously injured and his identity was not available.

The crash occurred around 2 a.m. today at Lancaster Ave. and N. 57th St.
