Police have arrested two men in connection with a puzzling abduction attempt in Camden last month.

Hasian Womack, 35, of Philadelphia, and Willie Dennis, 24, of Indiana, Pa., were taken into custody Wednesday morning.

Investigators said Womack and Dennis, dressed in full-body robes and head scarves, entered the Zoujati Salon the morning of Jan. 21. Brandishing a weapon, they allegedly restrained a female employee with plastic zip ties and duct tape before forcing her into a trash can they brought inside.

The duo put the trash can outside on the sidewalk with the victim still inside before fleeing in a white Chevrolet Express cargo van with Pennsylvania license plates, according to police. Authorities said the victim was Womack’s former girlfriend.

Five search warrants were carried out Wednesday at separate locations. The Philadelphia Police Department SWAT team executed three, while Pennsylvania State Police executed two in Indiana, Pa.

Detectives with the Camden County Police Department, assisted by neighboring law enforcement agencies, arrested Womack and Dennis without incident.

Each man is charged with kidnapping, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Both suspects are being held in Pennsylvania awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
