Man wounded in Cobbs Creek stabbing

A 48-year-old man is recovering after being stabbed Saturday morning in the Cobbs Creek section of West Philadelphia.

A 48-year-old man is recovering after being stabbed Saturday morning in the Cobbs Creek section of West Philadelphia.

Police said the victim was stabbed in the chest, arms and back shortly before 6:15 a.m. on the 600 block of South 56th Street.

He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was listed in stable condition Saturday afternoon.

Police said the suspect in the stabbing is known to investigators. It wasn't immediately clear whether that person had been taken into custody.

Investigators did not disclose a motive for the crime.
