Man, woman shot outside West Oak Lane home in Philadelphia

A man and woman returning home were surprised by a gunman who shot them outside a Philadelphia home last night in West Oak Lane, according to police.

The shooting occurred about 11:30 a.m. near 66th and Ogontz Aves. The couple was just outside their front door when each heard gunfire, and were struck.  They did not see their assailant and managed to make their way inside the home.

The victims were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.  The male victim, 33, was shot in the lower left leg.  His girlfriend, 31, was shot in the lower back.

Police have no description, other than the shooter was a male.
