Man stabbed at N.J. mall

A man was stabbed Saturday afternoon inside the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing.

Officers with the Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to the shopping center around 3:30 p.m. for a report of a disturbance. They located the victim at a nearby hospital, where he was receiving treatment.

The man, whose age and identity were not released Saturday, was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries, according to investigators.

Police said the suspect in the stabbing fled the scene. He's described as a heavyset black male, possibly in his late teens or early twenties.

More information about the circumstances surrounding the attack were not immediately available Saturday evening. Police said a more detailed accounting of events would be released as the investigation continued.
