Man shot at Pennsport playground

A man was injured Thursday afternoon during a shooting at a playground in the Pennsport section of South Philadelphia.

Police said the victim, a 25-year-old Hispanic man, was shot once in the right leg shortly before 2 p.m. inside the basketball courts at Dickinson Square Park, near Morris Street and Moyamensing Avenue.

The victim was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. Police said that, as of 3:30 p.m., the investigation was ongoing and no arrests had been made.
