A shooting in West Philadelphia left a 34-year-old man in critical condition Friday night.

A shooting in West Philadelphia left a 34-year-old man in critical condition Friday night.

Police said the victim was shot between eight and nine times in the torso and legs shortly before 11 p.m. on the unit block of North Edgewood Street, near 60th and Arch streets.

Medics rushed the man to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

An arrest was made in connection with the crime, police said.

Additional information about the circumstances of the arrest was not immediately available Saturday. Police had not yet named the suspect or suspects believed to have been involved.
