North Philadelphia shooting leaves man critical

A man is in critical condition following a shooting Thursday night in the Allegheny West section of North Philadelphia.

A man is in critical condition following a shooting Thursday night in the Allegheny West section of North Philadelphia.

Police said the victim, 42, was shot once in the back of the head by a known suspect shortly before 6:30 p.m. near 33rd Street and Allegheny Avenue.

The man was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was placed in critical condition.

There was not yet word on a motive Thursday night, and no arrests were reported.
