Man accused of fatally stabbing pregnant mother in Gloucester City

A Gloucester City man is accused of fatally stabbing his pregnant mother late Sunday night.

The Camden County Prosecutor's Office said 21-year-old Leon Wilson is charged with murder in the death of his mother, 42-year-old Scarlett Wilson.

Scarlett Wilson was pregnant, authorities said. Her child was delivered and is being treated at Cooper University Hospital. Scarlett Wilson died from her injuries at the hospital. 

Prosecutors said the fatal stabbing happened after an argument between Leon Wilson and his mother at their home on the 600 block of Jersey Avenue around 9:45 p.m. Sunday.

Leon Wilson is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon in Camden County Superior Court.
