A 31-year-old man is dead tonight after a shooting in West Oak Lane, the third in a violent night that saw two other men die.

Just before 11:30, police found two men shot on Limekiln Pike near Ridley Street, Chief Inspector Scott Small said. One male, 31, had been shot multiple times in the chest and back. The other, 36, was shot in the left leg.

Both were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center. The 31-year-old was pronounced dead there at 12:15 a.m., and the other is still at the hospital in "very critical condition," Small said. He's undergoing surgery.

A third male, 18, later came to Einstein with a gunshot wound to his left foot. He told police he was also shot during the incident.

Ballistic evidence from the scene indicates that eight shots were fired from two separate handguns.

There's no information on a motive available in the shooting, which occurred feet from the John L. Kinsey School, Small said.

Several people were seen fleeing the area, and witnesses told police that one, a male, was wearing an orange hoodie. A person of interest matching that description was taken into custody for questioning. He hasn't been charged.

There's no indication that the shooting is related to the previous two from this evening, Small said. Nor is it related to another shooting that occurred six minutes later, on Matthews Street near Woodlawn Avenue in East Germantown. In that incident, a 20-year- old male was shot once above his right knee. He's stable at Einstein, Small said.
