Police arrested an Ogontz man for the January gun slaying of a West Oak Lane man.

Rashaun Peterson, 21, from Widener Place near 15th Street, allegedly shot Aquil Bickerstaff, 28, of Chelten Avenue near 21st Street, just after 7 a.m. Jan. 13 on the block where Bickerstaff lived, said Officer Leeloni Palmiero, a police spokeswoman. Bickerstaff died about 90 minutes later at Albert Einstein Medical Center.

Police listed the motive as argument; Palmiero had no details on what sparked the argument.

At the time of his arrest, Peterson was being sought by police for open drug and theft cases, according to court records. He now is being held without bail and faces a May 21 preliminary hearing, records show.
