Three members of a family from Georgia were killed when a tractor-trailor rear-ended their car on the New Jersey Turnpike this morning, New Jersey State Police said.
A 51-year-old man, a 49-year-old woman and a 12-year-old boy were killed. A fourth person in the car, an 18-year-old woman, received only minor injuries.
State Police Lt. Stephen Jones said it appeared that the victims were husband and wife and their son and daughter.
As for what caused the truck to ram the silver Toyota Camry “we’ve got more questions than answers,” Jones said. The truck also hit a gold Ford Edge.
