'Silver Linings' gets 8 Oscar nods, including Cooper as best actor

Although 'Lincoln' led Academy Award contenders this morning with 12 nominations, locally shot 'Silver Linings Playbook drew a surprising eight nominations including best picture, best actor, best actress, supporting actor, supporting actress, director, editing, and writing.

Silver Linings was shot in and around the Philadelphia area. And Bradley Cooper, also a Philly-area native, captured a best actor nomination.

The movie is based on a novel by Matthew Quick, originally from Oaklyn, Camden County, and a graduate of Collingswood High School and former English teacher in Haddonfield.

Winners will be announced Feb. 24 in Hollywood.
