Kensington fire injures two

Two people were injured Saturday morning after a fire broke out in a Kensington home.

Fire companies responded shortly before 9:30 a.m. to a three-story row home on the 2400 block of East York Street. The blaze was placed under control a little over a half-hour later.

Fire officials said two adults were hospitalized in stable condition. Initial radio reports indicated the victims were a couple in their 70s who suffered smoke inhalation and burns to their hands.

The cause of the blaze remained under investigation Saturday.
