I-95 southbound lanes closed for school bus crash in Bucks County

A school bus ended up in the grass median separating northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Bucks County this afternoon and all three southbound lanes were closed for about two hours, state police said.

The entire highway was reopened by 5:30 p.m. and a trooper said the backlog of traffic was clear at 5:50 p.m.

State police at Trevose Barracks said it remained unclear if there were any injuries, but said an ambulance was on scene shortly after the 3:20 p.m. incident. A trooper also did not know the cause of the bus in the middle of the median near Exit 44, which is for Business Route 1 in Langhorne.

Northbound lanes were first reopened minutes after the crash once children riding in the bus were walked across I-95 to another bus that had arrived to transport them from the scene, police said.
