Gunshots rang out on a street in Lower Merion Township along the Main Line early Sunday evening, police confirmed in their daily crime alerts.

A report of "shots fired" on the 200 block of Simpson Road was confirmed by township police.

A vehicle was also seen fleeing the area after the gunfire, police said. An online news report said Monday that the vehicle related to the Simpson Road incident was found abandoned in Upper Darby.
