Gunman sought in death of man in Lawncrest

Philadelphia police are searching for a man who fatally gunned down a 26-year-old man in Lawncrest on Saturday afternoon.

The shooting on the 500 block of East Hill Creek Drive occurred just before 1 p.m. The victim was found on a lawn with multiple gunshot wounds and hospitalized at Einstein Medical Center in Logan but later died from his injuries, police said. He was pronounced dead about 3:45 p.m.

Officials said the victim, who was not yet publicly identified, was walking on the sidewalk when the gunman opened fire before fleeing on foot.
