A 17-year-old girl was hospitalized in stable condition after she was tazed in her forehead by a group of eight girls in the Overbrook section of West Philadelphia Friday morning, police said.
Around 11:50 a.m. the group of girls attacked the victim on 59th Street near Lansdowne Avenue, said Officer Tanya Little, a police spokeswoman.
Lt. John Walker, of the Southwest Detective Division, said the assault happened during a large fight a few blocks south of Overbrook High School.
The girl was taken to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and a second girl was also hospitalized to treat cuts and bruises. Both had been released by Friday night.
Police are searching for the suspects, and no arrests were made. Walker said the suspect who used the Taser will likely face charges of aggravated assault.
